Prashant Sitapara

Sitapara’s works are inspired by the congruence of industrial manufacturing with the human condition. He seeks to embody the spirit of the industrial labourer and depict the hardships and intrepid resolve of their arduous work. His colours are deep and intense, mimicking the stark colours in heavy machinery. His work is a recognition of the industry as a core base for societal progress and he embodies this spirit though the objects and shapes he depicts.

The use of deep reds is a parallel to the harsh chemicals and dyes used in industrial operations. The abstract forms depict the interlocked flow of machinery. Our dependance on the material world is what drives our need for the industrialization of nations. We strive to build larger and heavier, faster and better, but at what cost?
